Want to go from drab to fab in seconds?
I got you, boo.
It’s called a kimono. It can be worn on its own with a brooch a la JLo x Versace, as a swim cover up, or as an accessory… you name it.

I have worn them all ways… yes, even a la JLo… and I get compliments every time.
For me, it’s the perfect versatile summer piece. Take this one, for example. I got this gem at forever 21 (plus). It’s got the perfect mix of tropical colors and a hint of animal print to give it that va-va-voom vibe.
I love this piece in particular because it is marketed as a swim cover up… which it will make a fabulous cover up for either a super cute animal print bikini I have or a solid one piece. I can pair it with a cute pair of leopard sandals and voila: pool party ready!
Not in the mood to swim? Well, here’s the kicker—wear it as a kimono/jacket/accessory to spruce up any outfit.

I paired this one with a blush tank and a pair of shorts. Add my favorite summer heels (the Danielle vinyl mule from target), and I’m ready to go from errands to brunch or even a night out.
The beautiful bell sleeves and extra fabric make it a fabulous piece you can dress up or down. And!!! You can even tie it in the front to change up the look.

I don’t know about you, but this has quickly become my favorite summer wardrobe item!
