Yesterday, I, along with about 30 other bloggers, made my way to a mysterious destination in downtown Miami hoping to get the scoop on the influencer lifestyle.

Two local blogger/influencers, @thefashionmuse_ and @stephaniecosmopolitan, teamed up with a blogger photographer and a PR specialist to spill the tea on what really goes on behind the scenes of the influencer life.

In an unnamed location (which we later learned is the future home of the go-to brunch spot @woodsidemia), @lavender.laurel.events teamed up with the girls to bring us fabulous photo ops and a cozy space where everyone could “learn the ropes.”

It was a lovely afternoon of real talk. Priscilla and Stephanie definitely bared it all, including personal anecdotes of real things they’ve gone through on their brand journey.

Amidst beautiful girls, yummy cocktails, tasty snacks, delicious bite-sized desserts, and even cafecito brewed by Priscilla’s mom (yes, with espumita and everything); we spent an afternoon filled with laughing and learning, which is really the only way to learn—I should know, I’m a teacher.

But the best part of it was the underlying message. In a world where women are tearing each other down and things can be more divisive than not, two female bloggers (who could very well be each other’s competition) teamed up to tell the secrets behind the trade. It was a message of empowerment and sisterhood, something that will not easily be forgotten.

In fact, I think they may have even inspired me to pursue a dream that I had let die long ago… And what better day to resurrect it than Easter!
