This year I chose to celebrate my Galentines in a sort-of relaxing way: a spa party! We had done this before and loved it, so we figured, why not? It’s a great way to help people you know in the esthetics, massage therapy, and beauty industries, while relaxing and hanging out with your girlfriends!
So what is a spa party exactly? It’s a girl’s day in, basically. You get together with all your friends and you hire people to perform different services. For this spa party, we hired two massage therapists, a skin-care specialist, a lash/makeup artist, and a manicurist.
We set up the massage therapists in different rooms in the house and had the other three ladies in the living room, where we had set up areas for each. Then, we had an area set up in the family room for the kids to play and for the ladies/mommies to gather around some food and wine (it also happened to be national drink wine day…perfect, huh?). I got a schedule going and voila! Not to mention the cute little headbands and socks we got to accessorize the flock of robes parading around my house with wine glasses capable of holding an entire bottle of wine… I mean, could it be more perfect?
And the “staff”? Well, they were super happy too! A day of back-to-back appointments with friends, yummy treats, and entertainment— yes, please! In fact, they already messaged me asking when is the next one, ha!
The result? A super fun day where we got to do a lot of things we want to do but sometimes can’t due to our schedules or lack of childcare for things-less-important-than-work-or-child-less-dates! Thanks to amazing friends and community-style babysitting (I made that up, but it means we forced our childless friends to look after our kids too), we got to spend a day with each other and our kiddos, and it just worked out.
Days like this remind us just how necessary taking care of ourselves is, as we often forego it in lieu of other things we deem have higher priority. But the truth is, there’s nothing more urgent than loving ourselves; and I don’t know about you, but I always welcome getting pampered.
From my flock to yours, Happy Galentine’s, Babes!
An impressive share, I simply given this onto a colleague who was doing a little bit analysis on this. And he actually purchased me breakfast because I discovered it for him.. smile. So let me reword that: Thnx for the treat! But yeah Thnkx for spending the time to discuss this, I feel strongly about it and love studying extra on this topic. If doable, as you turn out to be expertise, would you mind updating your blog with more particulars? It’s extremely helpful for me. Huge thumb up for this blog publish!
